We woke up this morning VERY tired. Waking up every three hours and staying up for an hour and a half to feed both boys, supplement and then pump is very exhausting. We also had to wake up at 10pm and 6am to give eye drops.
I woke up for the day at 8am and went across the hall in the NICU to feed Zeke. While we were doing his stats, checking his temp and doing a diaper change, Mr. Zeke decided he would pull out his feeding tube. Turns out he was for real over it and when the doctor came around they decided he could leave it out and take all his feeds by mouth! This was a big accomplishment for Zeke and we were so happy to see it!
While in the NICU this morning I got to meet another twin mom whose babies arrived yesterday at 35 weeks. It was really nice to chat with her and share our experiences. Her babies are so cute and have lots of black hair.
We stayed for the noon feedings and then the nurse came home to discharge us. Before we left we had to watch a CPR training video … talk about the scariest thing to watch before you bring your preemie home! Then we got Jude all dressed in his baseball outfit and converse sneaker socks and went back into the NICU to say goodbye to Zeke.

Picture: Look at those little converse sneaker socks! So cute!
It was so heartbreaking to leave Zeke all alone there. I cried like it was the first time I left them. I was so happy to be bringing Jude home but it was so hard to celebrate with Zeke still there. I did go home and spend lots of time cuddling with Jude which is really what I needed.

Then girls came home from preschool and their stay at Gramannette’s house and were so excited to see Jude. It was nice to have them home and see their shining faces.

We had accidently locked Phlip, out cat in our bedroom while we stayed the night at the NICU. So when we went in there we discovered he decided to use the bassinet pack n play as his litter box. It was SO gross. We had it covered with a sheet so it was washable but still not what we were expecting to come home too!
Matt went back up to give Zeke a bottle before bedtime – he drained it in 8 minutes! Way to go Zeke!
Then home again for Jude’s feeding and then a sprint to bed to try to get some shut eye before Jude was ready to eat again.
