Ayla & Eden stayed the night at Gramannette and Ppa's house last night so Matt and I could go to the feeding at 8:30am.
When we arrived we found Zeke in an open air crib! His weight is down a little at 5 lb 5 oz and he is struggling with spit ups on the formula. His eyes are doing so much better and aren't as goopy.
Jude is doing great in the isolette and after the nurse practitioner came around for the day she wrote orders for Jude to be moved to an open air crib too! Jude's weight is up to 4 lb 15 oz and he continues to do great on his feedings my bottle and breast.

The most fun thing for mom today was that I got to hold both babies together! It was so amazing. We had a really good chunk of time to just snuggle together and it felt so wonderful for the three of us to be together again!
As I said before everyday brings about so many changes in the NICU. I found out today that Jude is officially on his countdown to going home. His last apnea episode was last Friday morning so his countdown actually starts from there. He could be home as early as Wednesday or Thursday this week as long as he continues to maintain his temperature in the open air crib and no more apnea spells. He also has to pass the sleep study and car seat test.
Zeke has a ways to go but he is getting better at feeding by mouth with the bottle and breast everday. He just seems to tire with eating really easily and won't finish his feedings. So that is his major task right now.
We also might have to buy special car seats that will accommodate the preemies better. We'll see how they do on the car seat test.
It will be so difficult to have them split up emotionally and just logistically trying to balance more time but so glad we are making progress and getting closer to having everyone home.
Matt and I were thoroughly entertained today by the nurses and the nurse practitioner. They have very lively and colorful conversation and we are getting to know them more and more everyday.
